An excerpt from the Policy and Procedure Manual explaining the requirements for volunteering for Committee/Board Membership.
New PA Program Directors should download this packet.
NAACLS Programs undergoing the Accreditation process can now complete their Self-Studies using a pdf template. The Self-Study Template can be completed using the free version of Adobe Reader. Simply download the file and follow the instructions within. Completed Self-Studies can be submitted to NAACLS via flash drive. Please note that you must save the file, not work on it online.
The new Guide to Approval has been updated.
All programs that have a Self-Study due date after September 1, 2009 are required to follow the guidelines and Standards within the new Guide to Approval when assembling the Self-Study.
The new Guide to Accreditation has been updated to contain the NAACLS Standards and the details of the Programmatic Accreditation Process for all but Doctoral level NAACLS Accredited Programs.
All programs that have a Self-Study due date after September 1, 2009 are required to follow the guidelines and Standards within the new Guide to Accreditation when assembling the Self-Study and preparing for the Spring 2010 site visit.

A task force chaired by Donna Spannaus-Martin has been charged to review and update the NAACLS Program Revitalization: Strategies for Survival document. Other task force members include Linda Ross, Debbie Wisenor, Randy Vandervander, Fred Rodriguez (board liaison), and Gwen James-Oriaikhi (staff liaison).
The Program Revitalization Task force would appreciate any ideas/strategies that you might have to include in the updated document. These can be sent directly to Donna Spannaus-Martin.
NAACLS will offer "Preparing for Accreditation: Process, Standards, and Resources " in Rosemont, Illinois (near Chicago) on Friday, October 22, 2010. Click the header for more information.

The American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS) has a catalog of books and other educational offerings which may assist program directors in areas such as writing objectives. Select "ASCLS Education Connections" from the ASCLS publications page to view the list of resources.
At its April 2009 Board of Directors meeting, NAACLS made new changes to its consortia policy, effective immediately. Click on the above link for more information.

On July 23, the Department of Labor (DOL) announced the availability of approximately $125 million in new grant funds authorized for projects that provide training and placement services to help workers pursue careers within the health care sector. Grant applications must be submitted to the DOL no later than October 5, 2009.
