NAACLS will conduct a virtual workshop titled, “Cracking the Code: Mastering NAACLS Accreditation with Confidence,” on Thursday, June 5, 2025, from 9:00am-4:00pm CDT

This workshop is a unique opportunity to benefit from the wisdom of review committee chairs Dr. Charity Accurso and Dr. Phyllis Ingham. In their role as review committee chairs, Dr. Accurso and Dr. Ingham are an integral part of the NAACLS quality assurance process. They meticulously examine each program’s accreditation review materials for every cycle and possess in-depth knowledge of current standard compliance, policies, and challenges programs face in meeting compliance. Cracking the Code is designed to guide educators, administrators, and program directors through the complexities of NAACLS standards with clarity and confidence.

NAACLS will allow registrants to share their concerns and questions with our presenters prior to the workshop. Dr. Accurso and Dr. Ingham will review these questions to identify themes and do their best to tailor the presentation to the needs of the attendees. Through interactive discussions, real-world case studies, and expert insights, participants will gain practical strategies for ensuring compliance, streamlining documentation, and preparing for site visits. Whether you’re new to accreditation or seeking to refine your processes, this session will provide the tools and knowledge needed to navigate NAACLS compliance with ease. Join us as we decode the requirements and transform compliance into a pathway for program excellence.

Upon completion of this workshop, the participants should be able to:

  1. Decode the NAACLS Standards Compliance Guide – Break down key accreditation requirements, interpret complex standards with clarity, and develop effective strategies for documentation and compliance.
  2. Integrate Interprofessional Education (IPE) into Accreditation Processes – Explore the role of IPE in NAACLS standards, identify best practices for incorporating interprofessional collaboration into program curricula, and enhance student learning outcomes.
  3. Optimize Advisory Committees and Adapt to NAACLS Standard Updates – Explore the essential role of advisory committees in program oversight, curriculum development, and continuous improvement
  4. Recognize the Rationale of Recent Changes – Examine the reasoning behind NAACLS standard changes and their impact on accreditation and program success.

ASCLS P.A.C.E. and ASCP approve NAACLS as a provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences. This workshop is an intermediate-level program. The following contact hours will be awarded at the workshop: ASCLS P.A.C.E. = 5; ASCP = 5.
