The NAACLS Data Governance Task Force continues its work to develop recommendations for a comprehensive data governance framework for the organization.

The Task Force has met four times to date and is examining how NAACLS collects, manages, and shares organizational data. As data plays an increasingly important role in workforce planning, research, advocacy, and strategic decision-making, establishing a thoughtful and sustainable approach to data governance is an important priority.

As an initial step in this work, the Task Force developed a Data Needs Assessment Survey to better understand the NAACLS community’s data needs. The survey asks whether the data currently provided by NAACLS meets those needs and what additional data, information, or reporting would be most valuable in the future.

The survey takes fewer than 10 minutes to complete, and responses will be accepted through Monday, August 31.

Following the survey period, the Data Governance Task Force will review the results and use the findings to develop recommendations for the NAACLS Board of Directors regarding future data governance policies and priorities.

The Data Needs Assessment Survey is separate from the NAACLS Annual Survey of Programs. This survey is specifically intended to gather feedback about the data and reporting needs of the NAACLS community.
