NAACLS will conduct a hybrid workshop titled, “Mastering the Art of the Site Visit,” on Thursday, February 22, 2024, from 7:00am-12:00pm PT, in Las Vegas, Nevada, in concurrence with CLEC 2024.

Site visits are a critical component of the accreditation process for laboratory educational programs. In this workshop, we will explore strategies to help you successfully navigate the accreditation experience, understand how to best represent your program during a site visit, and recognize commonly cited standards to avoid citations. We will walk you through the preparation, planning, and hosting of the Site Visit to ensure a smooth accreditation process and help you demonstrate an ongoing commitment to quality and continuous improvement in your program.

Upon completion of this workshop, the participants should be able to:

1. Describe the overall accreditation process from preparation of the Self-Study through the site visit and afterward.
2. Describe how to use various NAACLS resources, including the Standards, Compliance Guide, Review Forms, Program Director Mentor, and Discipline Lead Persons to successfully prepare your program for the site visit.
3. Identify commonly cited standards and approaches to avoid citations.  
4. Develop strategies for planning and hosting the site visit to demonstrate your program’s continuous quality improvement.

ASCLS P.A.C.E. and ASCP approve NAACLS as a provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences. This workshop is an intermediate-level program. The following contact hours will be awarded at the workshop: ASCLS = 4; ASCP = 4.
