Outcomes Availability Policy Effective April 1st
The NAACLS Board of Directors has recently updated the compliance requirements for Standard IV.A.1.d. These changes result from updated compliance guidelines recently provided by NAACLS’ recognition agency, the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation (CHEA). NAACLS’ new compliance language is as follows:
Programs with a website: Results of external certification outcomes, graduation rates outcomes, and placement rates outcomes of the last three active years must be on the program’s homepage or one click away from the program’s homepage with the link clearly identified as program outcomes. Programs must present all outcomes in percentage (%) form. A program may provide additional descriptions or data if desired. For example, “Between 20## and 20## the program’s graduation rate was 75% (three out of four students graduated)”.
Programs without a website: The program must provide a narrative on the NAACLS Annual Survey of Programs describing the process of alerting current and prospective students of the results from external certification outcomes, graduation rates outcomes, placement rates outcomes from the last three active years. Documentation demonstrating the program follows its stated policies must also be provided on the Annual Survey of Programs. Programs must present all outcomes in percentage (%) form. A program may provide additional descriptions or data if desired. For example, “Between 20## and 20## the program’s graduation rate was 75% (three out of four students graduated)”.
As a CHEA-recognized accreditor, NAACLS must demonstrate we comply with CHEA’s standards regarding public disclosure. These changes will ensure that NAACLS remains in compliance with those standards.
This new policy goes into effect on April 1st, 2022. NAACLS Staff will start checking program landing pages soon to verify programs are in compliance. NAACLS Staff will contact non-compliant programs and grant them 30 days to make the necessary changes.
The above language is available in the Standard Compliance Guide. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact NAACLS Staff.
