NAACLS will conduct a hybrid (in person and virtual concurrently) workshop titled, “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly: Taming the NAACLS Accreditation Process by Evaluating Examples of Submissions,” on Thursday, November 3, 2022 from 7:30am-4:00pm CST.

Upon completion of this workshop, the participants should be able to:

1. Investigate the accreditation process from Application Packet through Interim Report.
2. Describe how to complete a Self-Study Report and site visit utilizing NAACLS Standards, Standards Compliance Guide and review forms.
3. Identify compliance and non-compliance with the Standards by reviewing examples of Self-Study Report and site visit submissions.
4. Describe required processes for continued accreditation, including completion of progress report or interim report.

ASCLS P.A.C.E. and ASCP approve NAACLS as a provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences. This workshop is an intermediate level program. The following contact hours will be awarded at the workshop: ASCLS = 6.5; ASCP = 6.5.

Candice Grayson, MS, MA, MT(ASCP), Program Director of the MLT and HT Programs at Community College of Baltimore County in Baltimore, MD. Ms. Grayson is an MLT Educator on the NAACLS Review Committee for Accredited Programs (RCAP).

Laura Ahonen, MS, MT(ASCP), Program Director of the MLT and Phlebotomy Programs at Northcentral Technical College in Wausau, WI. Ms. Ahonen is the Chair and a Phlebotomy Educator on the NAACLS Programs Approval Review Committee (PARC).
