The current versions of the Accreditation Application Packet template and Review template needed revisions to provide clearer instructions for our applicants. Due to the edits of this forms, the Standard Compliance Guide section for the preliminary report needed revisions as well.

Note: This should not be confused with the Preliminary Report Task Force that has been meeting to develop a new application packet. We will not see their recommendations until July 2026.

NAACLS Staff has been receiving feedback about potentially extending the length of a site visit, to either 3 days for all programs or specifically for joint (2 or more programs at one sponsoring institution). We surveyed our current site visitors for their input and now are requesting the input of our Review Committees. Please complete this short survey on the current length of a site visit. If you have already completed when NAACLS Staff out the call for site visitors, please do not complete it again.

Revisions made to the SCG Standard II.D to provide clear guidance what types of institutional reports or other metrics that can be used to document “closing the loop”.

ASCP Board of Certification (BOC) presented to the NAACLS Board of Directors’ Meeting in September 2025 and requested a change in terminology throughout the Standards, replacing “certification” with “credential.”

Review the proposed standard revision across all disciplines in the 2024 and DCLS Standards.

The Guide is the last of the core documents to be updated to align with the 2024 Standards. We are opening this up for discussion to receive areas of concern, improvements, or additions needed for programs. We will transition this discussion over to a task force to present the edits in July 2026.
